The Holdrons Building is rich in history. Entrepreneur Henry Holdron opened his first store here in 1882 and it became one of the area’s most successful department stores.
Today Holdrons Arcade is home to some of Peckham’s best-loved independent small businesses, including Kahn’s, Ron’s Café, Deserted Cactus, Balamii radio station, Peckham Jewellers and more.
Holdrons Arcade has been widely acknowledged as a hotspot of new creative talent and rising street culture. It is a culturally diverse space which includes female-run businesses, bringing together different groups from Peckham’s community all under one retail roof.
Vogue UK says, ‘nothing beats Holdrons’ and Londonist calls it, ‘a corridor of wonders’.

The residents of Copeland Park make it what it is: a diverse community of artists, small businesses, bars, restaurants and cinemas, to name a few.
Putting on an event?
Tucked away at the back of the Arcade is, quite possibly, Peckham’s smallest events venue.
The Back Room is a small exhibition/pop-up retail space with narrow/regular access, white painted walls and nothing besides – just perfect for a first solo art preview or a short pop-up event.
