Cloth Workrooms is a shared studio space aimed at promoting textile art and teaching textile crafts. It works with makers to host workshops that teach a broad range of skills from weaving, patchwork, natural dying to knitting. With a focus on sustainable production and thoughtful making, its aim is to blur the line between art and craft and encourage discussion around textiles as a medium in art.

Cloth Workrooms also hosts the annual Craft Show hosted in Copeland Gallery, as part of London Craft Week each May. The event is a celebration of contemporary craft – taking it out of a market-stall setting to give beautiful works of craft the space and attention they deserve.

Cloth Workrooms also hosts a ‘Common Cloth’ workshop, where a group of people weave together on one loom, at Peckham Festival and Craft Show each year for free. Focusing on the therapeutic and relaxing aspect of making textiles, our Common Cloth workshops enable those taking part to sit, make and talk to those sitting next to them.

We take commissions for anything from props for film to handmade products, as well as develop and host workshops at other events and venues, such as Green Man Festival and The National Portrait Gallery.
