In the wake of the Supreme Court’s devastating anti-trans ruling, a collective of artists, activists and performers – led by the Brixton Pansies theatre troupe – presents a rapid-response piece of queer theatre. Rooted in the legacy of 1970s gay street theatre, this new short play emerges as both resistance and celebration, amplifying trans voices at a moment of urgent need.

Developed in collaboration with artist Ian Giles and playwright Louis Rembges, the performance features five trans writer-performers drawing on lived experience and existing texts to create a collaboratively built, collage-style performance.

Presented as part of Becky Warnock’s A Welcome Table, the piece weaves storytelling, protest and joy into a live expression of queer resilience.

This is theatre as survival – messy, beautiful, and definitely present. Audiences are invited to witness a shared space of visibility and solidarity, where protest takes the form of performance, and where joy becomes a radical act.
