Poohsticks is a show is about the idea of the village – the universal group of personalities, buildings, events and geography that reoccurs in every small community. Think town halls, fetés, bandstands, wells, woods, pubs, car boots, neighbourhood watches. The weird stories and traditions that come from these places and the reassuring yet claustrophobic feeling of knowing everyone and everyone knowing you. Why do these small landmarks and events survive and how do they connect us to the landscape of where we live and who we live with?
